PPDS Label Maker (Natasha's Law)
Make a UK label for food prepacked for direct sale: the name of the food and the full ingredients list with the 14 allergens in bold. Hidden allergens get named for you ("butter (milk)"). Print it or download a PNG.
Allergens are detected as you type. Check the list below; untick anything that is a false match.
Fits the label.
Detection is a drafting aid that matches common names; you are responsible for the final list. Emphasis must stand out in the list (bold here). Reference information, not legal advice.
What a PPDS label must show
Name and full ingredients, allergens emphasised
Food prepacked for direct sale - packed on the premises before a customer orders it, such as sandwiches, salads and baked goods in a grab-and-go chiller - must carry the name of the food and a full ingredients list with any of the 14 allergens emphasised. This has applied across the UK since 1 October 2021.
Name the allergen inside the ingredient
Where an ingredient's name does not make the allergen obvious, the allergen is named alongside it: "butter (milk)", "tahini (sesame)", "anchovies (fish)". This maker adds those brackets for common cases; read the result before printing, because detection works from names, not recipes.
The 14 allergens
Celery, cereals containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats), crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya, and sulphur dioxide or sulphites above 10 mg/kg or 10 mg/L.
Reference information, not legal advice. Requirements change and turn on facts specific to your product - confirm against the current regulation before relying on it.
