Nutrition Facts labels FAQ

Everything about creating, formatting and exporting compliant labels. Also see the Recipes FAQ and Inventory FAQ.

Which countries and formats do you support?

152 label formats across 114 countries: US FDA (all 21 CFR 101.9 variants), EU 1169/2011, UK, Canada, Australia/NZ, Japan, China, India, Brazil, the GCC and 100+ more, plus Supplement Facts panels for 10 regulatory regimes. Every format cites the paragraph of the regulation it follows; see the full coverage map.

Are the labels really compliant?

Each renderer implements its regulation's layout, nutrient order, rounding ladders and insignificance thresholds, and the FDA Checker flags issues live as you type. Compliance ultimately remains the manufacturer's responsibility; we recommend a final review by a qualified regulatory professional before printing.

Does the label round values automatically?

Yes, the §101.9(c)(1)–(7) rounding ladders (and each country's equivalent) are applied automatically. You enter real values; the label shows the legally rounded ones.

Can I say "low fat" or "high fiber" on my package?

The workbench tells you. The Nutrient content claims panel evaluates FDA §101.13/.54/.60–.62 live against your label: eligible claims show green with their CFR citation; ineligible ones show exactly which number misses the threshold. There's also a standalone Claim Validator.

What export formats do I get?

JPG on Free (watermarked); PNG on Starter; PDF + SVG (print-ready vector) on Professional; EPS + AI on Business. Exports are unlimited on paid plans. Plans differ by file type, not count.

What if my lab analysis differs from the calculated values?

Type your number over the calculated one. The recipe engine stops touching that field and a Manual overrides panel shows "yours vs computed" with a one-click reset back to automatic.

Can I show the label on my own website?

Yes, live embeds (Professional+). One script tag renders the label straight from your saved recipe, so updating the recipe updates your website automatically. Find it under Recipes → your recipe → Embed.

Do you support bilingual and supplement labels?

Both. FDA bilingual (English/Spanish), Canada's bilingual SFT, and Supplement Facts for the US (nine FDA specimen variants), EU, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, China, Korea, India and Brazil.

Why is my exported file watermarked?

Free-plan exports carry a small watermark; that's what keeps the free plan free. Any paid plan removes it. The decision is made server-side, so it applies consistently everywhere.
